I always look to automate as much of my work as possible. This includes starting each DVD cover graphic from a standard template I have.

This template can easily be modified in any way that you want to. Its a great starting point to coming up with a good looking DVD cover.

It should be noted that this is not precise enough for a major graphic duplication service.

They generally require the graphics to be lined up within very precise specifications. Those companies offer template guidelines to go by or offer graphic services to create the cover for you.

I use this template for my in house graphics and you can now do the same if you wish. Once I have come up with the look I want, I save the graphic as a pdf file. I then upload this to an online color copy service to get copies at .34 cents each.

This file is a Photoshop .psd file. Each element is on its own layer for you to hide or edit each individual item.
